Sound

TechSoc has a large stock of sound equipment that is available for hire. We have a range of microphones, speakers, amplifiers, and mixing desks. Mixing Desks​

We have two Allen and Heath mixing desks, the SQ5 and Qu-16. In addition to the two mixing desks, we have a pair of AR2412 digital stage boxes. The SQ5 can be connected to both stage boxes; due to the additional SQ SLink port, the Qu-16 can only be connected to one stage box.

The SQ5 is our primary mixer, with the ability to mix 48 channels, with 16 onboard preamps, 12 stereo mixes + LR, and a 32x32 USB Audio Interface. The Qu-16 is a smaller mixer, which is normally installed in the Dixon Drama Studio.

Thirdly, we have an X Air XR18; we'd highly recommend the use of this with an external Access Point. This is a portable mixer, with 18 channels, 6 auxes, and a multichannel USB audio interface. This is a great mixer for small events; you would mix it using an iPad or laptop.

Speakers​

We have a range of speakers available for hire, suitable for all types of event.

Line Array​

Our line array consists of 4x dB Technologies K5 speakers and 2x dB Technologies KS10 subwoofer speakers. We have ability to fly the speakers or mount them on stands.

Yamaha DBR Series​

We have 2x Yamaha DBR10 speakers and 2x Yamaha DBR15 speakers. These are great to use as a PA system, or alternatively used for monitoring.

Stage / Pit Monitors​

We have 3x dB Technologies Flexsys FM10 speakers; which can be used for a foldback on the stage. We also have 4x Eurolive B207MP3 Pit Monitors.

Radio / Wireless Microphones​

The society unfortunately does not own any radio microphones, however we have the ability to hire them in for your project. Please do be aware there is additional cost associated with this; for an exact cost get in contact so that we can arrange a quote - the price depends on who we hire them from and for the period of hire.
